Over the past days, with the help of the medical student association Medica, we organized cookie and hot dog sales at our faculty to raise awareness and support for people living with type 1 diabetes.

Our lab was decorated with blue ribbons, balloons, and flags to mark the occasion. Today, on World Diabetes Day, we stand united with everyone affected by diabetes.

We also had national TV in the lab, interviewing Dr. Chantal Mathieu, highlighting the latest breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has granted approval for Tzield (teplizumab), the first disease-modifying therapy for stage 2 type 1 diabetes, which can delay the onset of clinical symptoms.

A day of awareness, celebration, and real progress for the type 1 diabetes community! 💙
