At the 21st Immunology of Diabetes Society (IDS) Congress, Conny Gysemans was announced as one of the five laureates of the T1D Innovation Grant Program.
This program brought together 66 applications from 16 countries, highlighting the strong global drive to push type 1 diabetes research forward. After a competitive selection process, five projects were chosen for funding based on their innovation and potential impact.
The T1D Innovation Grant Program is designed to support bold and innovative ideas that can help improve the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes. For the selected teams, the grant provides both financial support and an important boost to further develop their research.
For the Leuven Diabetes Lab, this recognition is a meaningful encouragement of ongoing work in the field. The support will help strengthen the project and accelerate next steps in the research.
We are very grateful to Sanofi and selection committee for their trust and support. The lab looks forward to continuing its efforts to better understand type 1 diabetes and to move closer to improved therapeutic strategies.
