The Société Francophone du Diabète (SFD) has awarded Dr. Chantal Mathieu with the Roger Assan Prize 2025.

The Roger Assan Prize, valued at €10,000, is awarded to a clinician or researcher of international renown who has spent most of their career in French-speaking countries. Their work must have led to significant advancements in the understanding or treatment of diabetes and metabolic diseases.

Dr. Chantal Mahieu is the first woman since the start of the prize in 2012 to receive this prestigious award, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing diabetes research—demonstrating that unity is strength in the pursuit of scientific progress.
