Chantal Mathieu was honored with the Belgian Endocrine Society (BES) Lecture Award in 2001 for her outstanding contributions to endocrinology and the immune system.

The award recognizes young researchers under 45 whose work, carried out mainly in Belgium, has had a significant scientific impact.

Recipients are invited to present a 20-minute lecture on their research and receive a prize of €4,000.

Chantal Mathieu received this award for her pioneering work on 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D₃: Endocrinology meets the immune system.
