With the official launch of BEAT T1D, Belgium takes a concrete step toward organising early-stage screening for type 1 diabetes in a structured, coordinated, and independent way.

BEAT T1D is chaired by Chantal Mathieu, who led the development of the initiative. The process was supported by Gaëtan Haenecour and Gert-Jan Dossche from Möbius, facilitating alignment across stakeholders, hospitals, and linguistic communities in Belgium.

The launch of BEAT T1D marks the start of a coordinated national effort to advance early detection of type 1 diabetes in Belgium.
